PodDebrief (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates poddebrief.com. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name.

Usage Data

We collect information about how you use our service: podcast subscriptions, radio stations you save, debriefs viewed, features used, and device/browser information.

Payment Information

PodDebrief is free during the beta and we do not collect payment details.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To provide and personalize the PodDebrief service
  • To send account emails such as sign-in links and password resets
  • To improve our service and AI analysis quality
  • To respond to support requests

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase (EU region) and Cloudflare R2. All connections to our services use TLS/HTTPS encryption; some radio stations and podcasts stream their audio without it. We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted passwords, secure sessions, and access controls.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Supabase — Authentication and database (EU)
  • Vercel — Website hosting
  • Cloudflare — CDN and audio storage
  • Resend — Transactional emails
  • PodcastIndex — Podcast directory. It can receive the words you search for, not your account details
  • Deepgram — Transcription of podcast audio
  • Anthropic — AI analysis of podcast transcripts
  • Google — Text-to-speech audio generation
  • Radio Browser — The free, open list of radio stations behind the app’s Radio. When you play a station, the app tells Radio Browser which station was played, as it asks of every app that uses its list. This sends your device’s internet address, not your account details
  • Radio stations — A station you play streams straight from its broadcaster, which sees your device’s internet address

5. Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days. Anonymized analytics data may be retained longer.
