For podcasters
If you make a podcast and found it on PodDebrief, this page says what we do with it, what we do not do, and how to have your show left out.
What a debrief is
A debrief is a short account of one episode: a written summary and a spoken version of about five minutes. A listener gets one when they follow a show with debriefs turned on, or ask for a single episode. Its purpose is to help them decide whether to listen and what to listen for. The episode itself is listed right next to it.
To make one, the episode is fetched once from the address in your public feed and transcribed. The summary is then written and voiced by AI, and every debrief says so.
What we do not do
- We do not host or copy your audio. When someone plays your episode, it comes from your own host, with your ads, and it counts as your download.
- We do not remove or skip ads.
- We do not publish transcripts.
- We do not imitate you. The spoken debrief uses PodDebrief's own narrator, who refers to hosts and guests by name and never speaks as one of them.
Leaving your show out
Email hello@poddebrief.com with the name of your show or the address of its feed. Please write from the address listed in the feed, or tell us another way we can see that the show is yours.
We then stop making debriefs of the show and take the existing ones off the site and out of listeners' feeds. People can still follow and play your show; they will just not be offered debriefs of it.
Something wrong in a debrief
Summaries written by AI can get things wrong. If a debrief misstates what was said on your show, write to the same address with a link to it and we will correct it or take it down.
